In the 1820 census William GOUGE was the head of household with a total of thirteen in the household. County marriage records for the county show more than one potential match. Was there more than one William GOUGE in Adair county or was he married more than once? County marriage records also show a few interesting witnesses which I am attempting to find additional information. It is unknown where the GOUGE family was prior to Adair county, Kentucky, but I suspect Virginia is a likely candidate. By 1830 William GOUGE emigrates to Bartholomew county, Indiana.
