LYDIA CRITESER DIES AT 80 YEARS
Lydia M. Criteser, 83, a resident of Roseburg for more than 80 years, died at her home in this city Saturday afternoon. She was born February 19, 1851, in Boone county, Indiana, and crossed the plains with her parents at the age of one year. The family resided for a few months in Portland, coming to Roseburg in the early part of the year 1853.
Mrs. Criteser was the mother of six children, three of whom survive. They are Walter Criteser of Mariel, Oregon; Lillian Cobb, of Roseburg, and F. F. (Bud) Criteser of Roseburg. Her husband T. J. Criteser, passed away several years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Roseburg Undertaking company chapel, Rev. W. C. Fawcette officiating, and interment will take place in the Masonic cemetary. (The News-Review, Roseburg, Oregon, Monday April 23, 1934) |
